Title | Dyke Manifesto |
Date | 1993 |
Description | The Lesbian Avengers group was founded in New York City in 1992 by six lesbian activists. The women envisioned a group focused on action that would attract visibility and media attention to their message; some of their “direct actions” included eating fire, holding parades, and organizing the first national Dyke March, held in 1994 in Washington, DC. The Dyke March remains an annual event held in cities around the world. |
