National Lesbian Conference 2nd regional pamphlet |
Title | National Lesbian Conference Southern Regional Planning Meeting Pamphlet |
Date | 1990 |
Description | The National Lesbian Conference was held April 24-28, 1991 in Atlanta, Georgia. Leading up to the event, a number of smaller regional planning committees met to discuss fundraising opportunities, itinerary, and ways to make the conference as accessible and inclusive as possible. This pamphlet indicates that the Southern Planning Committee met in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and women from all southern states (including Alabama) were encouraged to attend. The pamphlet was distributed by the Southern Wild Sisters Bookstore, and included a letter asking for donations and a list of scheduled events at the bookstore. While the conference drew nearly 2,500 participants and boasted “one full day of caucuses, five plenaries, four mornings of anti-oppression training and slightly fewer that [sic] three hundred workshops,” a national group did not develop. |
