- Stamey's is an institution in the Piedmont, having originated in Lexington, NC before moving to Greensboro in 1953. The menu is simple, the barbecue authentic, the service fast and the prices very reasonable. One of the best Lexington-style BBQ restaurants outside of Lexington, and it's just a stone's throw from UNC Greensboro, the Greensboro Coliseum, and the ACC Hall of Champions museum. Come make a day of it.
