Robert Oliver Mellown, associate professor of art history emeritus, will present the fascinating history and hidden by-ways of Alabama\u2019s campus in his new guide \u201cThe University of Alabama: A Guide to the Campus and Its Architecture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe little-known stories and surprising facts Robert presents in his book delighted everyone at the Press involved in the editing and production of his book, even long-time residents and Tuscaloosa natives,\u201d said Curtis Clark, executive director of The University of Alabama Press.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch or purchase lunch in the library\u2019s grab-and-go caf\u00e9, Java City. Limited parking is available in a reserved area on West Capstone Drive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The series continues in the new year with the following authors:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Feb. 6, 2014, Lila Quintero Weaver, \u201cDarkroom: a Memoir in Black and White\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 March 6, 2014, R. Scot Duncan, \u201cSouthern Wonder: Alabama\u2019s Surprising Biodiversity\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 April 3, 2014, Philip D. Beidler, \u201cThe Island called Paradise: Cuba in History, Literature, and the Arts\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 May 15, 2014, Nimrod Frazer, \u201cSend the Alabamians: World War I Fighters in the Rainbow Division\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Press looks forward to presenting UAP authors to the larger University and local communities in such an exciting collaboration with the Center for the Book.
