Spring’s sprung all across our collections! Let’s investigate what’s sprouted.<\/p>\n

Among our literary collections are Martha Young’s papers<\/a>. Martha Young wrote the poem “The Keys of Spring<\/a>,” although you can see that was not her original title.<\/p>\n

\"Spring-2\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our sheet music\u00a0contains the Spring Festival March and Two Step<\/a>, put out by the Chattanooga Spring Festival Association in 1899.<\/p>\n

\"Spring-1\"<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A\u00a0photograph from the 1910s<\/a>\u00a0from the Wade Hall Collection<\/a> reminds you that Hoole has a\u00a0wide-ranging set of photographs from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.<\/p>\n

\"Spring-3\"<\/a>Check out\u00a0this edition of the Crimson White<\/em>‘s literary supplement released in spring 1953<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Publishers’ Bindings<\/a>\u00a0Online\u00a0is a wonderful site\u00a0to visit\u00a0if you want to learn more about nineteenth and early twentieth century book bindings. The site includes items from the University of Alabama in addition to other repositories around the United States.\u00a0Birds and Blossoms<\/a>, <\/em>from UA’s Richard Minsky collection,\u00a0is\u00a0a gorgeous example of this type of art from 1887.<\/p>\n

March 20 was the official beginning of spring. While we may be in Alabama and avoiding the type of weather that hit the East Coast so hard this year, we’re also ready for some warmer days, especially as rain and chilly temperatures seem to be hanging on a bit longer than anyone here in Hoole would prefer. These girls<\/a>\u00a0from the\u00a0Schaudies-Banks-Ragland photographs<\/a> look like they agree!<\/p>\n
