Description | “Birmingham Shout” is an LGBTQ film festival held annually in Birmingham, Alabama. The festival was founded in 2006 by Jeremy Erdreich, David Garrett, Erik Jambor, Catherine Pfitzer, and Larry Slater, and is organized by the Alabama Moving Image Association (AMIA). This poster from 2007 was the first year organizers began awarding the “Beacon Award” for “increasing visibility of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) characters and issues in popular media” (Bhamwiki.com). |
