||The Mystic Krewe of the Druids Presents Bal Masque V, “Holidazed and Confused”
||Tuscaloosa’s Mystic Krewe of the Druids presented its fifth Bal Masque in 1998. This 25-page program not only talks about the events of that year’s ball, but contains a snapshot of the LBGTQ community in Tuscaloosa (and in wider Alabama) at the time. It includes ads for gay-friendly businesses and churches, many testimonials to loved ones who were lost to AIDS, and declarations of love, friendship, and celebration among the people involved in the festivities.
