Description<\/td>\nIncorporated in June 1977, Lambda, Inc. was an organization created to serve the political needs of the LGBTQ community in Birmingham, Alabama. After the Internal Revenue Service questioned its tax-exempt status, Lambda, Inc. became a strictly educational organization with a separate political action committee, PRO-PAC. The organization published the Alabama Forum<\/em> as part of its educational objective.  Lambda, Inc. was the first major LGBTQ organization in the state of Alabama, and was instrumental in bringing together a community and inspiring future organizations and action.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
