{"id":633,"date":"2019-07-16T14:53:30","date_gmt":"2019-07-16T14:53:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/apps.lib.ua.edu\/blogs\/renovations\/?p=633"},"modified":"2019-07-16T14:54:00","modified_gmt":"2019-07-16T14:54:00","slug":"university-archive-facility-update-7-15-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apps.lib.ua.edu\/blogs\/renovations\/2019\/07\/16\/university-archive-facility-update-7-15-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"University Archive Facility Update 7\/15\/2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Construction of the University Archive Facility is currently on schedule and is expected to be completed by late fall, 2019.&nbsp;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are a few updates on the UAF construction project:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The restroom in the current Annex building is being renovated, so\nthe staff there have been in the midst of a noisy, messy process.&nbsp; The\ncontractors have declared that the Annex staff &nbsp;are \u201creal troopers\u201d as\nthey have endured saw-cutting and other loud noises, and continuous movement in\nand out of their work space.&nbsp; When I was there, a wheelbarrow loaded with\nwet concrete was being transported into the restroom via the front door and\noffice space.&nbsp; The good news is that the slab has been re-poured which\nshould mean that some of the noisy and dusty work inside their work space will\nsubside. The work on the restroom is required in order to meet building codes\nand ADA standards.
