Next Wednesday, Science & Engineering Librarian Vincent Scalfani and I will co-teach a workshop on two desktop publishing tools available in the Libraries: Microsoft Publisher and Adobe InDesign. Here are the details:
Desktop Publishing with Microsoft Publisher and Adobe InDesign
Wednesday, September 24, 2014
1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Rodgers Library Scholars’ Station
Registration is not required, but seating is limited.
Both the Microsoft Publisher and Adobe InDesign desktop publishing software applications installed on computers throughout the UA Libraries can be used to create posters, flyers, brochures, magazines, newspapers, books, and more. While the entry-level Publisher is known for its ease of use and large selection of free templates, InDesign offers powerful text and graphic features and is the tool of choice for many professional graphic designers, editors, and production artists. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of both programs, including how to: create documents, add and format text and images, and export content for sharing and print.
